Merry Christmas

It’s been such a wonderful day here. The children had a great Christmas, and there were a ton of smiles and “oh yeah” screams, and it was perfect. Nothing excites me more than watching my kids on Christmas morning. We spend every last possible penny on their gifts so that I can be selfish and watch them get excited for as long as humanly possible. And my kids are so great. This year my 10 year old son wanted a new flat screen tv really bad in his room. His old one wasn’t showing part of the picture, and was just getting old and junky. We hid it downstairs the whole time and he opened all his gifts and still said it was the best Christmas ever even though he didn’t get his tv. Then we sent him downstairs on a hunt for my husband’s cell phone and he screamed when he saw it. Literally screamed. It was the best. He was still ever so grateful even thinking he didn’t get his tv. He’s such a great kid. My daughter wasn’t real thrilled like him with absolutely everything lol but only because Santa appears to have gotten her something she already had. That darn Santa has old person memory ha.

It’s so funny how quickly it goes. They were done in about 45 minutes. Breakfast was served and we just sat back and enjoyed watching their excitement as they got all the packages open and spread everywhere. Thank goodness they are past the age where all their packages have those five million twist ties in them. Oh how I loathe those packages. Playing Santa loses its appeal when you have to undo twist ties for hours.

And then as I’m sitting in all my glory with a happy husband and some happy children, the man whore calls to wish me a Merry Christmas. I talked to him for a few minutes and he is looking very forward to January 4th when we start chit chatting again. He sounded genuinely happy to hear my voice, and I was genuinely happy to hear his. All my loves touched me in one way or another today. What a beautiful day.

I hope all of you are having a beautiful day, and the upcoming year is full of love, passion, happiness, and satisfaction for each and every one of you. I thank you for taking part of your days to be a part of my life. I thank you for being interested in my random ramblings, and I thank you for being open to an alternate path in marriage. Your open minds are a beautiful thing and I look forward to spending the next year rambling to you all.

  1. Sounds like a wonderful day.
Our girl is just 3 so her favorite prezzy was a strawberry shortcake dvd and all she wanted from Santa was some fake cupcakes for her kitchen set.
Another couple years and the simple requests are over.
